Privacy Policy

Your privacy comes first. ZArchiver is designed to process your data right on your device — your documents belong to you, and only you.

1Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the ZArchiver app ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our file-management app on iOS.

By installing and using ZArchiver, you agree to the practices described in this document. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

Core principle: ZArchiver prioritizes local, on-device processing. Your files, documents, photos and content are managed right on your iPhone/iPad and are not uploaded to our servers.

2Information we collect

We try to collect as little data as possible. The types of information that may be processed include:

  • Anonymous analytics — via Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics, to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs (e.g. iOS version, device type, crashes).
  • Device identifiers — used for push notifications and remote configuration (Firebase Cloud Messaging / Remote Config).
  • Purchase status — in-app purchase receipts are validated through Apple to determine your subscription status.
  • Support information — only when you proactively contact us by email.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

3Data that stays on your device

The following content is always stored and processed locally on your device and is never sent to us:

  • The files, folders, PDF documents, photos, audio and video you manage.
  • Passwords protecting archives and documents — stored securely in the iOS Keychain.
  • Your Favorites, Recents and personal in-app settings.
  • Content shared over WebDAV — transferred only within your local Wi-Fi network.
Biometrics: Face ID / Touch ID is handled entirely by iOS. We do not receive, store or access your biometric data.

4How we use information

The information collected is used only for the following purposes:

  • To operate, maintain and improve the app's features.
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve stability.
  • To verify and manage in-app purchases.
  • To send app-related notifications (you can turn these off in iOS settings).
  • To respond to your support requests.

5Cloud service connections

ZArchiver lets you connect one or more Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox accounts. These connections are entirely optional and are only created when you explicitly sign in. When you do:

  • Authentication uses the standard OAuth 2.0 protocol — we never see or store your cloud account password.
  • Access tokens are encrypted and stored securely in the Keychain on your device — never on our servers.
  • File syncing happens directly between your device and the cloud provider.
  • Downloaded files are kept as local copies on your device; removing the connection or uninstalling the app deletes them.

What we access, and why. For each connected account we request only the access needed to browse and sync your files:

  • Google Drive — file & folder metadata (names, IDs, sizes, modified dates), the content of files you open or sync, and your "Shared with me" listing. Used only to display, download and two-way-sync your files.
  • Microsoft OneDrive — the same kinds of file metadata and content, via Microsoft Graph, for the same purposes.
  • Dropbox — the same kinds of file metadata and content, via the Dropbox API, for the same purposes.

We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with third parties.

Google API Limited Use. ZArchiver's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access. You can disconnect any account inside ZArchiver at any time. You can also revoke access from each provider directly:

Your use of data within these services is also governed by the respective privacy policies of Google, Microsoft and Dropbox.

6Third-party services

ZArchiver uses a few trusted third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Messaging) — analytics & app stability.
  • Google AdMob — displays ads in the free version (removed when you upgrade).
  • Apple StoreKit — processes in-app purchases.
  • Google Drive · Microsoft OneDrive · Dropbox — only when you actively connect them.

7Data security

We apply protective measures consistent with industry standards:

  • Sensitive data (tokens, passwords) is stored in the encrypted iOS Keychain.
  • Optional app lock with Face ID / Touch ID and a passcode.
  • Network transmission is encrypted over HTTPS.
  • Local processing minimizes data leaving your device.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8Children's privacy

ZArchiver is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9Your rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete any file directly in the app — local data is removed immediately.
  • Disconnect cloud accounts to revoke access.
  • Turn off notifications and permissions (Photos, Camera) in iOS Settings.
  • Uninstall the app to remove all local data.
  • Request information about your data by contacting us.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
